Leagues
Levels of Play
Please pay attention to the league descriptions — they have changed from previous seasons. All leagues have levels of competition and encourage socializing. Players and teams may be modified or asked to change leagues depending on sign-ups and experience level. League names may vary season to season (Red/Blue/Yellow or Social/Intermediate/Competitive).
🔴 Red League — Casual / Social
Never played dodgeball or it's been a while? Focused on fun over scores, or have a low to medium grasp of the rules? Red league is your spot. Low-stakes, slower-paced, and built for people who want to get moving and have a good time without the pressure of competitive play. Abilities will vary and hopefully grow — but improvement is never required.
- Some familiarity with the game; may not have played much since school, or ever
- Ball throwing at various levels — low to medium speed, distance, and accuracy
- Varying dodging and catching ability; consistency not expected
🔵 Blue League — Intermediate
Played dodgeball with Stonewall or another league several times? Been on teams that placed well in social leagues? Confident in your athletic ability but still sharpening your dodgeball skills? Blue league is for players who know the game well and can hold their own on the court — a more involved, faster-paced experience without going fully competitive.
- Know the cadence of the game; familiar with deflections, live/dead/zombie ball rules, and basic team strategy
- Medium to high throwing speed; can aim more reliably at opponents
- Can catch, deflect, and/or dodge more than half of balls thrown at medium to high speed
- Actively tracking teammates, opponents, and ball locations; developing situational awareness
🟡 Yellow League — Competitive / Advanced
Confident in the rules, master of basic and advanced dodgeball skills, and consistently winning over most other teams? Yellow league is high-paced, strategy-driven, and built for players with a track record of strong, consistent play and a burning fire to win.
- Can throw quickly from almost anywhere on the court to almost anywhere on the opponent's side
- Can catch, deflect, and/or dodge most balls — even at high speed and with fast response times
- Aiming at specific body parts on opponents
- Consistently thinking about game strategy, ball control, court composition, and opponent analysis

Financial Access
Player Fund
We're happy to formally launch our Player Fund. If you or someone you know would like to participate but can't because of cost, we're building a fund to partially or fully offset registration for a portion of players per program. The amount and quantity of awards varies based on demand and available funds. We're currently limiting one award per person per year unless extra unused funds are available.

How It Works
Rules of the Game
Teams face off on opposite sides of the court. The objective: eliminate all players on the opposing side with dodgeballs while staying in yourself. Once one team eliminates the other, they score a point. The team with the most points at the end of the match wins. A full rulebook will be sent to all registered players.
Game Basics
- Games are 55 minutes long with 2 halves and a halftime break
- Dodgeballs start on the center line — when the whistle blows, run to collect them and bring them behind your attack line before throwing
- Maximum of 10 players per team allowed on the court at once
- When called out, exit through the back of your half of the court and line up on the side in the order you were eliminated
- If a teammate catches a ball, the first person in the out-line may re-enter — only if fewer than 10 players are currently on court
- You may deflect a ball thrown at you with a ball you are holding
- If more than 10 players are in attendance, swap in and out each new game — no one should start out more than once in a row
- Referees make the calls — please listen and be respectful; bring disputes to your captain
- A live ball is a thrown ball that has not yet become dead
- A dead ball has hit the ground, a wall, the ceiling, or gone out of bounds — hitting a player does not make it dead
- Mercy rule: if one team leads by 10+ points at any point in the match, the score locks and teams may choose to mix and continue playing for fun
How You Get Out
- You, your hair, or your clothing are hit by a live dodgeball
- You throw a ball and an opponent catches it
- You are holding a ball and an opponent throws a second ball into it, causing you to lose control
- You throw a ball, an opponent deflects it, and another player catches it
